Course Overview

Islamic finance operates in 57+ jurisdictions, with a global market value of $3.06 trillion (2021) and an annual growth rate of 11.3%. By 2024-25, assets are expected to reach $3.69 trillion. Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and Iran lead the sector, with Malaysia, Iran, and the GCC region holding about 85% of global Islamic banking assets. Interest in Islamic finance is also expanding in non-Muslim countries, including Europe.

The industry faces a shortage of 15,000+ professionals annually who possess both Islamic finance expertise and practical application skills. This gap cannot be filled by conventional finance professionals alone—it requires Ulama who have deep Islamic fiscal knowledge and the ability to navigate modern financial structures.

To bridge this gap, Madrasah Abdullah Ibne Masood (RA) introduces the Certificate Course in Islamic Finance for Ulama, Alim, and Alimah Students—a 12-week (3-month) program designed specifically for Islamic scholars and students currently studying Alimiyat. The carefully structured syllabus covers essential concepts in Islamic finance, banking, takaful, and economics, ensuring scholars gain both theoretical and practical expertise.

The course is delivered online on a weekly basis, covering core Islamic banking products, their operations, and AAOIFI Shari‘ah standards. It includes real-world case studies, providing insights into risks, regulatory challenges, and opportunities for innovation in Islamic finance.
